Everyone does anything that needs to be done. We
each have our areas of expertise, but everyone can pitch in on the simpler tasks.

Our goal is to reclaim as much material as possible from 130 to
150 year-old collapsed buildings on the property. Nothing has
been taken down intentionally, but dismantled for safety
reasons. That doesn't make the wood any less interesting. The
dimensions, grain, colouring, and even the painted surfaces
all bring extraordinary character to our design
projects.
Our current collection of wood includes pieces
from the original farmhouse shown above. It was dismantled in
2003 and the wood has been stored in the front portion of the
barn.
Last year, an
incredible windstorm removed the roof from the rear portion of the Type II
barn and the weather has been battering it ever since. Most of
the upper section of the barn has come down. We'll use it
and the rest of the rear portion to add to our unique collection of
materials. The front portion will be repaired
and upgraded to it's original appearance and used as
storage area for the collected wood. |
